Alumni
The Upper Darby Arts & Education Foundation, Inc.
shares many goals with the alumni of Upper Darby High School and is working to develop an active and exciting Alumni Association.
Traditionally colleges and private high schools have appealed to their alumni for support of their school programs. In recent years, public high schools all across the nation have also begun to seek the support of their graduates to help them meet the challenge of education in the 21st century.
Upper Darby High School continues its strong tradition of excellence. Recent graduates are attending Harvard, Penn and hundreds of other outstanding universities as well as becoming successful entrepreneurs, skilled trades workers and productive citizens. Now the largest single site high school in Pennsylvania, Upper Darby is facing some unique challenges and the Educational and Cultural Foundation was created to help our teachers better meet these needs. The Foundation is independent of the school district and all funds go directly to classroom programs, not to district expenses.
Through an annual campaign, the alumni of Upper Darby High School have made a significant contribution to the foundation. Gifts of $500 or more are recognized on the Alumni Giving Tree located in the lobby of the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. Contributions may be made in the donor's name, or in memory of a special teacher or loved one. For information, call 610-394-1580.
At last count, Purple is leading Gold in Alumni contributions!
